Most of our efforts are still focussed on the search for Cnut's Minster Church:
- We commissioned further resistivity surveys in Steventon end, but these have not shown any signs of building foundations.
- We are preparing to sample the mortar in St. Botolph's church, Hadstock, which will hopefully happen in November. We will be sending those samples to the USA for specialist carbon dating.
- We investigated the materials used in construction of known Saxon churches in south Essex in order to understand if these materials, especially Kentish ragstone, came into south Essex during the 10th and 11th centuries.
- A new team member has been looking at some Danish sources, as well as following up on the various references in the charter investigations of St. Andrew's Church, Ashingdon and St. Nicholas's Church, Canewdon.
- We are planning further activities to bring our knowledge up to an equivalent level on all of our minster candidates.

We are mapping out the detailed timeline of events leading up to the Battle of Assandun.
We have submitted an entry for Assandun to go into the Battlefields Trust Battlefields Hub (https://www.battlefieldstrust.com/resource-centre/) and this is currently being peer reviewed by historical experts.
We are trying to raise funds to allow us continue with various surveys and investigations.
